This course is for experienced Final Cut Pro editors working in professional video production who want to master advanced techniques in colour grading, complex audio mixing, effects and media management to increase efficiency and output quality.
Prerequisites
You should be comfortable with the fundamentals of Final Cut Pro, or have attended our Final Cut Pro Introduction course.

Working with Metadata
- Creating your own metadata and metadata views
- Creating Multiclips, with in-depth discussion of how metadata (including timecode) can be used to arrange clips
Templates
- Using Smart Collection templates to speed new event setup
Advanced Sound
- Using multi-source sound with DSLRs
Transcoding
- Taking your media 'on the road- as proxies only
- Working with Red material and Alexa/Amira footage
Editing
- Close examination of all standard editing tools and the Precision Editor
- Editing using the Browser Viewer
Multicam Editing
- Advanced use of Multiclips including adding/deleting/re-syncing angles and managing and mixing multi-source sound
Colour Correction and Keying
- Understanding Log formats and LUTs (Lookup tables)
- In-depth discussion of keying in FCPX and the chroma keyer manual controls
- Advanced use of luma keys and masks
- Advanced use of colour correction including primary and (multiple) secondary corrections
Extending FCP
- Introduction to Core Melt and MFx plugins to extend FCPX
- In-depth discussion of motion graphics within FCPX

This course is designed for people who have experience in Final Cut Pro or have already attended one of our Final Cut Pro training courses or who would like to further their knowledge of best practice in the use of Final Cut Pro. How is the content taught throughout the Final Cut Pro Advanced course?
Our Final Cut Pro Advanced course is extremely interactive. You will be using Final Cut Pro throughout the day, working through examples and live projects under the guidance of our trainer, who will be supporting you through each step.
Should I attend the Final Cut Pro Advanced course in person or live online?
For in-person courses at our London training centre, you will receive a warm personal welcome, your choice of the latest Mac or PC and morning and afternoon refreshments. If you prefer to attend remotely, rest assured that you will be taught live by the same experts that deliver our in-person courses, covering the same training content, using the same exercises and materials. A second monitor is recommended but not essential.
Will I receive a certificate upon completion of my Final Cut Pro Advanced course?
Yes, you'll receive a certificate of completion from Transmedia, demonstrating your knowledge and attendance on our Final Cut Pro Advanced course. Our certificates note our Authorised Training Centre status.
What is the recommended number of people for the class when I attend the Final Cut Pro Advanced course?
For private classes in Final Cut Pro Advanced, we recommend a maximum of 8 to 10 people from the same company in the class. Please ask our customer service team to help you find the right balance of people per class and the number of days training you need.
What support is available after I attend the Final Cut Pro Advanced course?
We offer ongoing support to our Final Cut Pro Advanced course attendees through email and by arrangement, phone calls. You are welcome to ask any questions on topics covered during training. Our trainer will always do their best to explain principles and help you with any issues you encounter.

The Design and Development areas of Clarks shoes has been using Transmedia as a training partner for eight years now, mainly in the 'creative' Adobe applications - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere.
